DALLAS (AP) _ Veritex Holdings Inc. (VBTX) on Tuesday reported second-quarter earnings of $24 million.


The Dallas-based bank said it had earnings of 48 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 43 cents per share.


The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 41 cents per share.


The bank holding company posted revenue of $100.6 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $87 million, also beating Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $76.1 million.

Veritex Holdings shares have dropped 44% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $16.40, a drop of 35% in the last 12 months.
