Neiman Marcus proved that it is still young at heart when the brand unveiled its modern new prototype retail store at Fort Worth’s Clearfork development in February.

Founded in Dallas in 1907, the 110-year-old luxury retail brand could have chosen to rest on its past success and famous name and simply celebrate its longevity in peaceful solitude. Instead, the grand opening of the newest Neiman Marcus store showed the retailer still had plenty of surprises left in its gift catalog.

The Shops at Clearfork is poised to expand and explode with new shopping and dining at the heart of the new Edwards Ranch development in coming years. Neiman Marcus will now be in the thick of things, which is fitting for a brand that has become known for pushing the envelope as well as for providing customers with modern and creative shopping experiences.

Neiman Marcus Group LTD LLC is now a luxury, multi-branded fashion retailer with integrated store and online operations under the Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Last Call, Horchow, CUSP and mytheresa brand names.

The Clearfork Neiman Marcus is a glittering example of destination shopping. The sleek 94,000-square-foot, two-story structure houses fashion-forward clothing departments including men’s and ladies’ sportswear, contemporary and fine apparel; accessories departments including handbags, shoes, beauty and fragrance; gift galleries and jewelry.

“Many of our newly designed departments will serve as prototypes for updates to existing Neiman’s locations and new stores in our future,” said Scott Mitchell, vice president and general manager of Neiman Marcus Fort Worth.

The layout of the newest Neiman Marcus gives the interior a more open feel. The store gleams with polished marble and bright LED lighting throughout. It boasts many exclusive vendors, new services, a tranquil NM Cafe, a new open-sell concept in cosmetics and private spa rooms. It is bursting with new technology and reflects an innovative way to shop.

A museum-quality art collection adds to the experience, making Neiman Marcus Fort Worth a true shopping destination. Ninety percent of the original art collection was handpicked by Stanley Marcus himself. Alongside those iconic works, Neiman’s tapped several new artists to contribute their vision, including Fort Worth native John Holt Smith, whose works are prominently displayed upstairs. Other newly acquired artworks are by Carol Benson, Matt Clark and Jackson Echols, Charlotte Smith and Marcelyn McNeil.

With unique merchandise offerings and a newly thought-out presentation and layout, Neiman Marcus plans for this store to become a prototype, beckoning shoppers back to the brick and mortar, for a shopping experience they cannot find anywhere else.
