Dallas, Fort Worth chambers set up pro-growth index for local representatives

People love lists and ratings, so two regional chambers joined together to keep track of how legislators from North Texas voted on issues impacting the region’s businesses.

The Pro-Growth Legislative Accountability Index comes from the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce and the Dallas Regional Chamber. It tracks how North Texas legislators represented the area during the recent 84th Texas Legislative session.

The Fort Worth Chamber and the Dallas Regional Chamber partnered to form the index. It tracks how nine senators and 42 representatives from Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Grayson, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Parker, Rockwall and Tarrant counties voted on what the chamber’s characterize as “pro-business bills.”

“We are committed to working together on public policy matters to improve the business environment and quality of life in our communities, as well as keeping our members informed about regional issues that directly impact their businesses,” said Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Bill Thornton.
