Thirty-third annual event to take place April 19-22

MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival (MAIN ST.) is coming to Downtown Fort Worth April 19-22 for its 33rd year. Annually produced by Downtown Fort Worth Initiatives Inc., MAIN ST. is free and open to the public.
The festival will span more than 27 blocks from the Tarrant County Courthouse to Sundance Square Plaza to the Fort Worth Convention center and aims to bring together tens of thousands of people to celebrate the sights, sounds and tastes of Texas, a news release said.
“MAIN ST. is one of Fort Worth’s most anticipated and well-attended events,” Becky Renfro Borbolla, chairman of the Festivals and Events Committee for Downtown Fort Worth Initiatives Inc., said in the release. “It brings together people from all walks of life to our award-winning Downtown business district to celebrate incredible art and music in an urban setting.”
Out of the 1,273 that applied, MAIN ST. will include 223 artists from across the nation and will feature entertainers, authentic Texas cuisine, and family-friendly arts-and-crafts. Over 25 aspiring local artists will also be featured on 3rd and 4th Streets, sponsored by Frost, with a focus on Texas art.
According to the release, about $4.6 million worth of art is expected to be sold across 15 mediums including ceramics, jewelry, mixed-media, printmaking, digital, fiber, leather, painting, sculpture, drawing pastels, glass, metalwork, wood and photography.
The celebration of arts, music and food has been ranked by ArtFairSourceBook.com as No. 4 fine art event in the U.S. and is a three-time recipient of the “Grand Pinnacle” award and back-to-back winner of the “Zenith” award from the International Festivals and Events Association. Additionally, MAIN ST. received Fort Worth Magazine’s Best of Fort Worth “Readers’ Choice – Festival” award in 2017.
The festival’s music lineup will feature hundreds of performers ranging from country and rock ‘n’ roll to jazz, soul and R&B. Main performances will take place on the UTA Main Stage and Sundance Square Stage, in addition to street performances throughout what is known as MAIN ST.’s “magnificent mile.”
Announced headliners include folk music group Jamestown Revival, contemporary swing band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Latin Jazz ensemble Pacific Mambo Orchestra and Americana group Shane Smith & The Saints.
MAIN ST. will feature food and beverages from crawfish, turkey legs, bratwurst, gourmet hamburgers, funnel cakes and frozen treats, to craft beers in the “Craft Brew Pavilion” and wines by-the-glass in the “Wine Experience” tasting tent.
“MAIN ST. Creates!,” presented by Wells Fargo, offers a family-friendly outdoor arts-and-crafts studio featuring balloon design, face paint, mural walls, jewelry, sand art and more. The arts-and-crafts hub is also home to Tarrant County College’s “Young People’s Art Fair,” which will showcase art from more than 200 young artists.
