Newsmakers: Fort Worth project manager named to Urban Land Institute council

Cameron Pybus, project manager at Cornerstone Projects Group – a design build firm based in Fort Worth – has been named to the Urban Land Institute North Texas District Council Young Leaders Group Partnership Forum. Pybus is one of 15 selected to participate in the forum from across North Texas, and the only representative from a Fort Worth-based organization.

UMP names new Fort Worth president, promotes Keiser

UMB Bank, a subsidiary of UMB Financial Corp., has promoted Cliff Keiser to director of energy banking and vice chairman of Fort Worth. Michael Garner is being promoted to president of UMB Bank Fort Worth, taking over the role formerly held by Keiser. In addition, Erica Spencer has been hired as an energy portfolio manager to support the energy banking team.

Keiser has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry with an emphasis in the energy sector. In his new role at UMB, he is responsible for developing underwriting guidelines and policy for energy lending as well as generating new relationships in the space. Keiser started and grew the energy banking division for Frost Bank and has experience in the oil and gas banking sector in Fort Worth and Houston.

Garner has nearly 15 years of banking and financial services experience, all with UMB Bank. In his new role, he is responsible for the overall growth and direction of the market, including managing the commercial team. Garner is joining the team after serving as the senior vice president and commercial team lead at UMB Bank in St. Louis. Prior to that role, he was with UMB Bank in the Springfield and Kansas City markets.

Spencer has more than 10 years of banking and financial services experience. In her new role, she is responsible for helping Keiser develop the energy banking division at UMB Bank. Prior to her role at UMB, she was vice president, energy finance at Frost Bank.

BANKING/FINANCE

Michael J. Simon has joined Holt Capital Partners L.P. as a partner. Holt Capital manages investment portfolios for families and institutions of all sizes. Simon worked with the Firm’s founder, Robert M. Holt Jr., at Luther King Capital Management in the 1990s. Before joining Holt Capital, Simon was a senior portfolio manager with Invesco Ltd. and a principal of Simon Venture Development. He is a graduate of Texas Christian University and the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago where he graduated with high honors and is an Amy and Richard F. Wallman Scholar.

EDUCATION

Tarrant County College Foundation, Tarrant County College’s fundraising arm, recently announced the appointment of four new officers to its Board of Directors.

Established in 1988 and governed by a volunteer board of community leaders from across the county, the TCC Foundation raises money from businesses, civic groups, foundations and individuals for academic programs, capital needs and scholarships for deserving students.

New board officers are David Parker, managing director North Texas operations for Longbow Partners, board chairman; Janet Hahn, attorney and shareholder of Decker Jones, vice chairman; Kent Horst, vice president operations and finance, wealth manager for A.E. Petsche Co, treasurer; and Lei Testa, financial advisor at Averett Financial, secretary.

John M. Pritchett has been named president of Cristo Rey Fort Worth High School (CRFW). He leads the school’s culture, business operations, and strategic development. Before entering secondary education, he had a 22-year career in government and campaigns at the federal, state and local levels. Pritchett is a Fort Worth native and a graduate of Trinity Valley School.

CRFW is an independent 501(c)(3) entity governed by its own board of directors and a member of the Cristo Rey Network comprised of 35 Catholic, college preparatory high schools currently serving over 11,000 students from low-income families
