Now in its 28th year, the 2018 DFW Great 100 Nurses Celebration honors 100 registered nurses nominated by their peers and selected for being role models, leaders, community servants, compassionate caregivers and significant contributors to the nursing profession. ENTREPRENEURS
Brazen, a St. Louis-based organization that supports women entrepreneurs, has expanded to six more cities, including Dallas and Fort Worth. Jasmin Brand has been named director of Brazen Dallas-Fort Worth.
HONORS & AWARDS
The Fort Worth Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and the Beta Tau Lambda Charitable Organization will honor four people at the 25th Annual Dr. Marion J. Brooks Living Legends Awards June 22.
And for the first time, the organizations will recognize a “Legend in the Making” from among nominees under age 40.
The Living Legend honorees are: Religion – Ralph W. Emerson, senior pastor of Rising Star Baptist Church; Civic Service – Deralyn Riles Davis, president emeritus and state chair of the Texas Coalition of Black Democrats and member of the Democratic National Committee; Law – Mattie Compton, assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Texas; and Medicine – Dr. Dwight Ruddock, Fort Worth dentist.
Nominees for “Legend in the Making” are: Jeremiah Anderson, Fort Worth Black Chamber of Commerce; Kelley Mills, assistant to the chancellor at Tarrant County College District; Dante Williams, Community Frontline; and Devan Allen, Democratic nominee for Tarrant County Commissioner Precinct No. 2.

Associate attorney Keegan E. Sorenson and partner Machir Stull have joined Cantey Hanger LLP. Sorenson will focus primarily on professional malpractice, construction defense and commercial litigation in the firm’s Fort Worth office. Stull will focus on bankruptcy, business law and commercial litigation in the firm’s Dallas and Fort Worth offices.

Orest B. Dachniwsky has joined Kelly Hart & Hallman as senior counsel in the Litigation Practice Group. Previously, Dachniwsky was associate general counsel in the Law Department of BNSF Railway Co.

Shoppa’s Material Handling has made promotions and added several new employees.
Brian Corcoran has joined Shoppa’s as national account manager. Previously, he was director of fleet operations at Reddy Ice Inc. Drew Webber joined the Shoppa’s team as a sales intern after graduating from Texas Tech University.
Scott McClure, an eight-year veteran of Shoppa’s, has been promoted to territory manager. Tony Ybarra has been promoted to sales support and CRM administrator.
Scott Hubbell has been promoted to fleet manager. Kevin Pate has been promoted to director of inside sales.
