The T names new VP of operations and maintenance

Shawn M. Donaghy has been appointed vice president of operations and maintenance of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T).

Donaghy will direct and coordinate The T’s day-to-day bus operations, Mobility Impaired Services, and maintenance and security functions.

Donaghy had most recently been interim chief operations officer of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) Metro in Cincinnati, where he was responsible for transit operations, maintenance and paratransit. He also provided oversight with the Cincinnati Streetcar project in operations, safety, maintenance and governance. He served on maintenance and operations committees of the Ohio Public Transportation Association and was a member of SORTA Metro’s Diversity Council.

Dominique Finkbeiner joined GCG Marketing as a senior account executive. Finkbeiner previously was a senior account executive at Zehnder Communications in New Orleans and also worked with Peter Mayer Advertising and CaptureCode in New Orleans, Caesar’s Entertainment in Las Vegas and BBDO in San Francisco.

Boards & Organizations

Newly elected directors of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association include: Deborah Clark, Lynn Cowden, Ford Drummond, Dan Gattis, Claude Koontz, Frank Price and Robert J. Underbrink. Jay Evans, Steve Sikes and Dennis Webb were elected as executive committee members. New TSCRA honorary directors include Emry Birdwell, Richard Gates, Alan Lewis, Frank H. Lewis Jr., John L. Sullivan and Rick Tate. TSCRA also re-elected President Pete Bonds; First Vice President Richard Thorpe; Second Vice President Robert McKnight; and Executive Vice President/CEO Eldon White.

Southside Bancshares Inc., holding company for Southside Bank, elected two board members to its holding company and two board members to its bank. S. Elaine Anderson, a licensed certified public accountant since 1976, has served for 23 years with Texas Health Resources, most recently as senior vice president and chief compliance officer. She was elected to the OmniAmerican Credit Union board in 1996 and served as an independent chairman of the boards of OmniAmerican Bancorp Inc. and OmniAmerican Bank from 2010-2014. Anderson was appointed to the Southside Bancshares board in December. Patricia A. Callan, a principal of Callan Consulting since 2001, formerly held executive management positions for regional and national insurance companies and owned an independent insurance agency. She served as a board member for OmniAmerican Bank from 2006-2014 and for OmniAmerican Bancorp from 2010-2014. Callan was appointed to the Southside Bancshares board in December. John F. Sammons Jr. has been the chairman and CEO of Mid-States Services Inc. since 1999. He served on the OmniAmerican Bank board from 2009-2014 and the OmniAmerican Bancorp board from 2010- 2014, becoming vice chairman of both boards in 2010. He also served as mayor of Temple, Texas, for four terms beginning in 1980. He was elected to the Southside Bank board in January. Tim Carter is the regional president, North Texas region, of Southside Bank. Carter joined the former OmniAmerican Bank in 2007 as the president and CEO and was also a director of the OmniAmerican Bank board. Carter was elected as an advisory director of the Southside Bank board in January.

Energy

Purple Land Management promoted Nathan McIntyre to vice president of land and technical operations. McIntyre will manage information systems across the company’s 11 locations nationwide. He will continue to work at PLM’s Canton, Ohio, location. McIntyre joined PLM as GIS manager in 2011.

Honors & Awards

Enterprising Women magazine named Reggi Sturns-Kemp, president and chief executive officer of Kemp & Sons General Services, to its Class of 2015. Nominees must demonstrate they have fast-growth businesses, mentor or actively support other women and girls involved in entrepreneurship, and stand out as leaders in their communities. Kemp was recognized in the category for female entrepreneurs who saw annual revenues of between $2 million and $5 million. Kemp also mentors and trains aspiring female business owners; volunteers for programs that support the economically disadvantaged, youth and senior citizens; and has served groups such as the United Way of Tarrant County, Young Women’s Leadership Academy and the City of Fort Worth Committee for Sustainable Neighborhoods.

Karen and Chuck Milling, who own and operate a Children’s Lighthouse Learning Center in Saginaw, received the Golden Anchor Award at the 2015 Children’s Lighthouse National Franchisee Convention. The award recognizes a franchisee’s ability to maintain steady success and remain positive no matter the circumstances or challenges.

Dallas philanthropist and businesswoman Lyda Hill received the 2015 J. Erik Jonsson Ethics Award from Southern Methodist University’s Cary M. Maguire Center for Ethics & Public Responsibility. Honored for her ethical, inspiring leadership, Hill has interests ranging from education to medical research to health care and human services for the elderly. She is president of the real estate, tourism and venture investment firm LH Holdings and is the granddaughter of oilman H. L. Hunt.

Tarrant Area Food Bank earned Charity Navigator’s four-star ranking for the fifth year in a row, a designation that only 4 percent of charities in the United States received. The food bank received the ranking “for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency.”

Members of the American Advertising Federation’s Fort Worth club brought home 35 ADDY Awards from District 10 competition. Balcom Agency won the most awards earned by any Fort Worth organization this year, with a gold, two silver and five bronze ADDYs. Also winning in the professional category were Bud Force Photography, JAG Productions and Fletcher Productions. Gold awards in the student category went to the University of North Texas, the University of Texas at Arlington and Texas Christian University.

Hospitality

Bridget Shelton has been promoted to director of sales and marketing for Embassy Suites Fort Worth-Downtown. She joined Pearl Hospitality, owners of the property, in 2010 as a business travel sales specialist and later moved up to senior sales manager.

Manufacturing

Demilec hired Doug Brady in the new position of vice president of specialty products. During his tenure at Graco, Brady led the company’s coating and foam group to 22 percent growth. Most recently, he was vice president of marketing for Houston Wire and Cable. Brady served as a surface warfare officer in the U.S. Navy.

Museums

Scott Wilcox is the new chief financial officer at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. As CFO, he will implement and manage the museum’s financial operations and oversee the accounting and security departments as well as the museum store. Wilcox has more than 30 years of financial management, operations and administration experience. He worked 14 years at the Fort Worth Zoo, where he was the chief operating officer, CFO and deputy director and, previously, the senior director of administration. His experience also includes financial positions at Ernst & Young, JaGee Holdings, Pro Line Western and TeleQuestion Inc.

Radio & Television

Keith Russell joined CBS 11 as sports anchor. Russell was most recently the host of WXTF-TV Philadelphia’s Eagles pre- and post-game shows and was the station’s weekend sports anchor. Prior to that, he was a sports anchor for ESPN, CNN, WPVI (Philadelphia), WJAR (Providence, R.I.), WTVJ (Jackson, Miss.) and WHLT (Hattiesburg, Miss.). He also worked as a news anchor at WRC in Washington, D.C.

Real Estate

Joel St. John recently joined Integra Realty Resources DFW LLC as a director. He has 10 years of experience as a commercial real estate appraiser. He is part of the transaction team providing appraisal and consultation services to lenders and property owners.
