The Parenting Center of Fort Worth is sponsoring the “Shades of Blue” event to mark the opening of Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The event, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, at the center at 2928 West 5th St., Fort Worth, features a ground breaking on a new, accessible playground being built at The Parenting Center and butterfly release as a symbol of the transformations taking place at The Parenting Center as well as with the families served.
The Center also announced the “Shades of Blue” fundraising event at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at Painting with a Twist, 101 Town Center, Suite 107, Keller. The cost is $35 per seat, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting The Parenting Center.
The Center said that child abuse and neglect is a continuing problem in Tarrant County. While Tarrant County had 1,051 fewer confirmed cases of child abuse reported in from 2015 to 2016, the county still has the second highest number of confirmed cases in Texas.
