Fort Worth-based Williamson-Dickie Mfg. Co., maker of global leader Dickies work apparel brand, has completed its acquisition of Walls Industries, the company announced June 4. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Headquartered in Cleburne, Texas, Walls Industries is a 70-year provider of workwear and sporting goods under brands including Walls, Big Smith, 10X, Liberty and Duxbak. Williamson-Dickie’s portfolio of brands includes Dickies, Workrite, Kodiak, Terra and Van Moer. The acquisition expands Williamson-Dickie’s footprint in the workwear industry. The company said it intends to significantly grow the Walls brand (s) in the future. “As a 90-year-old, family-owned business, Williamson-Dickie is very protective of its brand heritage and position in the industry. It’s important not only to grow, but to do so in a smart, strategic manner,” said Philip C. Williamson, chairman and chief executive officer of Williamson-Dickie Mfg. Co., in a news release. Jerry M. Meyer, chairman and CEO of Walls Industries, called the transition a “perfect marriage.” Walls will continue with separate day-to-day business operations as the company transitions into the WD organization.
