Renderings of the planned hotel on Texas Christian University’s campus have been released.

In April, in consultation with CBRE Hotels Consulting, TCU’s board approved entering into a ground lease for the purpose of developing a hotel to serve those visiting the school.

The hotel will be located on TCU’s property at Berry Street between McCart and Sandage avenues on the eastern edge of campus, which is currently a parking lot. Total acreage is approximately 3.4 acres.

With this action, the board grants TCU the authority to negotiate a 50-year ground lease, with the option for two 10-year extensions.

Campus Hotel Venture, LLC has been selected through the competitive process to construct a hotel development, which will include a stand-alone restaurant.

The major brand, select service hotel will feature 150 guest rooms, a direct access rooftop bar, swimming pool and multiple-use public spaces, according to a report on the Campus Hotel Venture website. The hotel will have a 4,000 square foot ballroom which can be divided into smaller meeting rooms. The ballroom will provide the school with additional meeting space as well as special event and function space for the university and public.
