More than 19 million customers are expected to take their summer journey through the airport

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is ready to welcome more than 19 million customers this summer travel season, a 4.4 percent increase over last summer, the airport said in a news release.

Additionally, more than 1.3 million travelers are expected to pass through the airport during the Memorial Day travel period.

The airport is ready for these customers, touting its “hottest deal this season” AKA the new Prepaid Parking Online, which allows customers save up to 45 percent on parking costs by planning ahead and prepaying for Terminal, Express or Remote parking.

Additionally, those traveling this summer can use the promo code “SummerAtDFW” to receive up to a 50 percent discount when parking at the airport, the release said.

The airport is also promoting it’s DFW Airport Mobile app, the newest version of which features a redesigned home screen, enhanced flight dashboard, and improvements to the mobile food ordering experience, as well as providing a new way for customers to contact DFW with text questions or direct feedback.

As a “cool treat,” DFW is offering the “Summer Starts Here” program sponsored by Coca-Cola, also on its app. The release explained that customers can play for a chance to win one of more than 18,000 prizes instantly, in addition to being entered to win a trip for two to an upcoming international soccer match featuring the United States Men’s National Team.

The app can also be used by travelers to locate food and shopping options within the airport, some choices new to 2018 including:

The release stated that the first Wow air passengers said “við sjáumst” to North Texas on May 24, with Icelandair and American Airlines starting service on May 31 and June 7, respectively.

But if you’d like to keep your summer on this side of the hemisphere, American Airlines has added service to new domestic destinations this summer between DFW Airport and Panama City, Florida; Key West, Florida; Flagstaff, Arizona; Missoula, Montana, Asheville/Hendersonville, North Carolina and South Bend, Indiana.

DFW included some summer travel tips in the release:
