Free exhibition admission for Art Museum Day and “Kimbell Social Club” with Danni and Kris

The Kimbell Art Museum will celebrate Art Museum Day Friday, May 18, with free admission from noon to 8 p.m. to the special exhibition From the Lands of Asia: The Sam and Myrna Myers Collection, a news release announced.

Art Museum Day is an annual event celebrated by museums across the globe, the release explained. The 2018 theme for Art Museum Day is “Hyperconnected Museums,” which aims to call attention to the ways museums serve as central points of connectivity within their communities, both online and in person.

The Kimbell’s Art Museum Day visitors will also be able to attend the free and open to the public “Kimbell Social Club,” presented in partnership with the Fort Worth Weekly and HopFusion Ale Works, from 5-7 p.m. in the Pavilion Café.

A selection of $3 craft beer from HopFusion Ale Works will be available, along with gourmet small bites prepared by museum chef Peter Kreidler.

This month’s “Kimbell Social Club” musical performance will begin at 5 p.m., and will feature dynamic Fort Worth girl duo Danni and Kris.
