Motorists this week can expect an Interstate 35W traffic switch between Texas 121 and Spur 280 in Fort Worth.
Beginning Tuesday Nov. 1, the traffic shift will place northbound I-35W traffic onto new permanent pavement.
In order to perform the switch and prepare for construction activities on that stretch of highway, the following nightly closures will be in place:
* Tuesday, Nov. 1 from 7 p.m. through 5 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2
* Rolling closures along northbound 35W between I-30 and SH 121
* On-ramp from eastbound and westbound Spur 280 to northbound I-35W will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to Rosedale St.
* The direct connector from northbound I-35W to northbound SH 121 will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to Northside Dr.
The work is weather-permitting, with updated closure information available on Twitter (@NTExpress) and Facebook (facebook.com/northtarrantexpress).
This work is part of the $1.4 billion North Tarrant Express 35W project, which includes a 6.5-mile section ranked 23rd on the state’s most congested roadway list. Ranked sixth when construction began in 2013, the section of I-35W from north of Interstate 30 to north of Loop 820 includes the I-35W/I-820 interchange in Fort Worth.
