Joelle Mevi has been named executive director and chief investment officer of the Fort Worth Employees Retirement Fund. She replaces Ruth Ryerson, who took over as executive director of the Wyoming Retirement System. Mevi resigned in August as CIO of the New Mexico Public Employees Retirement Association, a position she had since 2009. Bowen S. Diehl has been appointed as senior vice president and chief investment officer of Capital Southwest Corp. Diehl brings almost 20 years of experience in sourcing, structuring and managing investments in a variety of industries. He previously worked at American Capital Ltd., where he had been a managing director since 2007. Brian Dale has been promoted from vice president, market coordinator to North Texas market president for Commercial Bank of Texas N.A. He will oversee the CBTx banking centers in Allen, Bedford, Lewisville and Roxton. Dale began his career at CBTx in 2012 as vice president of commercial lending in Allen. Arbor Point Advisors, an investment advisory firm headquartered in Nebraska, hired Jeffrey Schmaltz as a regional sales director based in Fort Worth.
Boards & Organizations Gov. Rick Perry appointed six new members to the Texas Workforce Investment Council, including Mark Barberena, Tom Halbouty and Wesley (Wes) Jurey for terms to expire Sept. 1, 2019. Barberena is a United Auto Workers representative in human resource development/joint training at General Motors Arlington Assembly and is chairman of the Investment Committee for Workforce Solutions of Tarrant County. Halbouty is chief technology officer and chief information officer for Pioneer Natural Resources Co. and an adviser to the Council on Competitiveness in Washington, D.C. Jurey is CEO of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce and chairman of the Texas Workforce Council. He is a member and the founding chairman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for a Competitive Workforce and was recently named to a task force by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. Brandy Young, senior vice president of OmniAmerican Bank in Fort Worth, has been appointed to the board of SWACHA, a not-for-profit Regional Payments Association based in Dallas.
Health Care Cook Children’s Health Care System appointed Keith Holtz as its new senior vice president of human resources. He will also oversee the marketing and communications department. Holtz was previously the senior vice president and chief human resources officer for the Baylor Health Care System.

PR News honored Artemis Medical Society for its “We Are Doc McStuffins” campaign at the PR News 2014 Non Profit PR Awards program in Washington, D.C. Artemis Medical Society received an honorable mention in the category of Social Responsibility. The Texas Historical Commission recognized Renfro Foods, makers of the Mrs. Renfro’s brand of salsas, sauces and other products, with the Texas Treasure Business Award, making it one of only 129 businesses in Texas that have received this honor.
Law Attorney and certified public accountant Brad Bolinger has opened Bolinger Law Firm in Southlake. The boutique firm specializes in corporate and tax law, oil and gas, probate and estate planning. Bolinger has more than 25 years of experience in estate and tax planning. Prior to opening his new firm, he was a founding partner in Bolinger and Hogue in Frisco. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the State Bar of Texas and assisted with the development of charitable trusts for both the University of North Texas and Texas A&M University.
Manufacturing Dana Perry, senior vice president of finance, chief financial officer and secretary of AZZ incorporated, will retire effective May 31. Paul W. Fehlman has agreed to join the company and will move into Perry’s roles. Fehlman most recently was vice president finance for the Engineered Products Division at Flowserve Corp. and previously was vice president treasurer and vice president financial planning and analysis and investor relations. An AZZ employee for the past 39 years, Perry is a member of the company’s board and will continue in that capacity.
Nonprofit Organizations Betty Wolf, an 18-year veteran of nonprofit development, has been named vice president of development for Susan G. Komen. Wolf will be based at Komen’s Dallas headquarters and will lead the outreach to charitable foundations and individual donors, along with fundraising events and planned giving programs. Wolf joins Komen from the Eisenhower Medical Center in California, where she was vice president of the foundation for 10 years. Previously she was the lead principal gift fundraiser at the University of California, Los Angeles (Department of Human Genetics and the UCLA AIDS Institute) and Saint John’s Health Center. Wolf began her career as a biomedical researcher at institutions such as the Mayo Clinic and MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Radio & Television Raul Jaurequi is the new affiliate relations manager for CBS Radio’s Texas State Networks (TSN). Jaurequi joined CBS Radio Dallas-Fort Worth in May 2010 and most recently served as administrator/coordinator for TSN.
