Kendra Scott, an Austin jewelry retailer, is opening a store in Fort Worth’s University Park Village in part of the space vacated by Barnes & Noble.

The company is the first retailer confirmed for the space.

Susan Holland, general manager of University Park Village for its owner Glimcher Realty Trust, said Glimcher currently expects four tenants in the ex Barnes & Noble space.

Kendra Scott is scheduled to open this summer.

The company got its start in 2002, when its owner Kendra Scott launched the company with “just $500,” the retailer says on its web site.

“Today, Kendra Scott Jewelry is a global multimillion dollar brand sold at renewed retailers like Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s and 1,000-specialty boutiques worldwide,” the company said.
