Batman The Ride goes backward for anniversary

Batman The Ride promises high-speed adrenaline junkies a new thrill as the roller coaster at Six Flags Over Texas shifts direction.

Beginning Friday July 4, the ride will run backward as the Arlington amusement park celebrates the attraction’s 15th anniversary.

“No matter how many times you have been on Batman The Ride, nothing compares to the thrill of racing down 10 stories facing the other direction,” said Steve Martindale, Six Flags Over Texas park president, in a news release.

“It’s going to be an exhilarating ride, especially since guests will have no idea what is coming next with their feet freely dangling above and below as they twist and turn,” Martindale said.

The ride include a hill approaching 110 feet lift hill, with the train reaching speeds of 50 mph along 2,700 feet of track,

Since its inaugural ride, Batman The Ride has served more than 17 million rides and is among the most popular roller coasters at Six Flags Over Texas. Batman The Ride backwards, as it is now known, will run for a limited time this season. More information is available at www.sixflags.com/overtexas
