DALLAS (AP) — President Barack Obama will travel to Texas to push his health care initiative.

A White House statement says Obama on Wednesday will fly to Dallas. The president plans to meet with and thank volunteers who are helping consumers learn about and enroll in medical coverage plans through health insurance marketplaces.

Obama will visit Temple Emanu-El to join canvassers and navigators working with the Dallas Area Interfaith group.

The president will later attend two Democratic fundraising events before departing.
