Higginbotham Receives 2025 Spirit of Enterprise Award at Fort Worth Chamber Annual Meeting

Award Honors Hometown Firm’s Contributions to Advancement, Prosperity of Fort Worth

Higginbotham, the largest independent insurance, financial and HR services firm headquartered in Texas and one of the top firms in the country, has been awarded the 2025 Fort Worth Chamber (FWC) Chairman’s Spirit of Enterprise Award. Established in 1975, this annual award recognizes a local company for significant contributions to the advancement and prosperity of Fort Worth.

Higginbotham Chairman and CEO Rusty Reid accepted the award on behalf of his firm at the Chamber’s 143rd Annual Meeting, held Tuesday afternoon before an audience of business and community leaders at Texas Christian University’s Sam Baugh Indoor Practice Facility and Cox Field.

Selected by the four most recent chairs of the FWC, the Spirit of Enterprise Award recognizes contributions to the development of the Fort Worth community, and commitment to the preservation of the American private enterprise system.

Founded in 1948, Higginbotham has grown into an industry powerhouse, providing a one-stop shop for insurance, financial and HR services, while forming a network of partnerships with like-minded agencies across the country. Beyond business, Higginbotham serves the wider community through the Higginbotham Community Fund, which distributes grants across the entire Higginbotham footprint based on recommendations from employees.

“We are truly honored to receive the Spirit of Enterprise Award from our peers here in Fort Worth,” said Reid. “This city is where our story began, and its values have shaped who we are as a company. While Higginbotham has grown into a national firm, our commitment to serving communities, supporting businesses, and putting people first remains at the heart of everything we do.”

“Higginbotham is the perfect Fort Worth success story,” said Steve Montgomery, President and CEO of the Fort Worth Chamber. “Their unwavering commitment to the community, combined with their impressive national growth, demonstrates what’s possible when a company stays true to its values. We’re proud to honor their contributions to the economic and social fabric of our city.”

Previous winners of the Spirit of Enterprise Award include The Tandy Corporation, which received the first award in 1975 and Texas Christian University, which received the award in 2024.
