Fort Worth-based merger and acquisition firm, Kasper & Associates, has facilitated the sale of Innovative Packaging Group to investor/entrepreneur Matt Schmidt.
Formed in 2006 by Bill Martin and Bob Moses as they merged their two long-standing packaging distributors, Ira Blackburn & Associates and Fasco Packaging, IPG offers a wide range of retail packaging products including bags, boxes, gift wrap, ribbons, foodservice packaging and shipping supplies. Headquartered in Dallas, the company provides full-service design capabilities along with in-house printing, stamping and warehousing programs for retailers, restaurants, foodservice distributors, sports teams and hospitality venues throughout the United States.
With a desire to introduce new leadership to the company, Mr. Martin and Mr. Moses retained Managing Partner Layne Kasper of Kasper & Associates to serve as their exclusive agent in initiating, structuring and negotiating terms of the transaction, including a long-term facility lease. Mr. Schmidt intends to utilize his background in business ownership and private equity to pursue growth opportunities, expanding the company’s capabilities and scope of operation. Mr. Martin and Mr. Moses have been retained for an extended period to ensure a smooth transition. All IPG employees will remain with the company under the new ownership.
According to Mr. Kasper, “Bob and Bill have made significant investments in positioning IPG to continue as a market leader well into the future. Their investments will pave the way for Matt to be successful in achieving his growth plans.”
