Fort Worth names Eddie Garcia new Police Chief

Fort Worth has named the former Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia as the city’s next chief of police.

Former Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia was selected to lead the Fort Worth Police Department as the 28th chief in the city’s history, in his return back to North Texas. Garcia was selected over Fort Worth Interim Police Chief Robert Alldredge Jr. and Vernon Hale, former Dallas Police Deputy Chief.

Mayor Mattie Parker is in full support of the hire by Fort Worth City Manager Jay Chapa and will have more to say at today’s press conference announcing the new hire.
