Cristo Rey Fort Worth College Prep proudly announces the grand opening and ribbon-cutting of its brand-new $5.1 million STEAM Center, marking a bold step forward in empowering the next generation of innovators, creators, and leaders.
Located at 2633 Altamesa Blvd., Fort Worth, TX 76133, the new addition expands the campus with 12 new classrooms, including a black box theatre, and state-of-the-art science labs designed to inspire creativity and hands-on learning. The facility was designed by Javier Lucio of RPGA Design Group and began construction in March 2025.
“This isn’t just a building—it’s a promise to our students,” said Cristo Rey Fort Worth President Dani Ray Barton. “Every new lab and creative space brings our students closer to achieving their dreams through education, experience, and faith.”
Roughly 1 in 5 students in Fort Worth live in poverty, with many families unable to access or envision pathways to college and career success. Cristo Rey Fort Worth is changing that story.
Through its innovative model, students receive a rigorous college preparatory education while gaining real-world corporate work experience through the school’s nationally recognized Corporate Work Study Program. The new STEAM Center brings that same spirit of opportunity to science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics—areas critical to 21st-century success.
Since opening just six years ago, Cristo Rey Fort Worth has achieved remarkable growth and success. Enrollment has increased 15% annually to 300 students, and the school has produced more than 140 alumni enrolled in universities across the country. Within three years, Cristo Rey Fort Worth anticipates growing to serve more than 400 students—the STEAM Center ensures that growth will be met with innovation, inspiration, and space to thrive.
“The STEAM Center is a symbol of what’s possible when faith, determination, and opportunity come together,” said Christina Jimenez, Cristo Rey Fort Worth’s Director of College Initiatives. “Our students are dreaming bigger, working harder, and achieving more than ever before.”
The opening of the STEAM Center and today’s ribbon cutting is further proof that Cristo Rey Fort Worth’s model is not just working—but growing, thriving, and transforming lives. The celebration marks not only the completion of a transformative project but also the continuation of Cristo Rey Fort Worth’s mission: to break the cycle of poverty through education and opportunity.
For students willing to do the hard work and rise to Cristo Rey’s high expectations, the Dream truly is theirs.
