Formation Real Estate Represents The Welman Project in Move to Historic Kimbell Milling Company Building

Fort Worth, TX, November 18, 2025 – Formation Real Estate is proud to share that Vice President Grant Huff represented The Welman Project in securing its new home inside the historic Kimbell Milling Company building. The organization will be located at 2109 S Main Street, which is the north building on the two-building property. The relocation marks an important step in the nonprofit’s ongoing expansion as demand for its services continues to grow.

Founded in 2015, The Welman Project now serves more than 6,000 educators annually, supporting over 2,300 schools and 125 nonprofits through creative reuse, free classroom materials, and TEA-approved professional development.

Formation Real Estate advised The Welman Project throughout the site selection and negotiation process, with a focus on securing a space that offered room to expand programming, improve accessibility, and support increased material intake. The Kimbell Milling Company building met all these needs and is being thoughtfully preserved and redeveloped by owner Bruce Conti and his team.

The organization’s current 5,600-square-foot building on West Vickery has reached capacity, limiting donation intake, materials processing, programming, and the ability to meet peak teacher demand during back-to-school season. The expanded space at the Kimbell Milling Company building will allow for increased storage, a larger educator warehouse, a more robust makerspace, and improved accessibility for teachers, volunteers, and community partners. The Welman Project is expected to move into the new 26,510 SF suite in Q1 2026 as renovations are completed.

“The right location can change what’s possible for an organization, and this move does that for Welman. It’s been great working with their team to secure a place that supports both their growth and their mission,” said Huff.

“This move gives teachers and students so many new possibilities,” said Taylor Willis, Executive Director of The Welman Project. “As a hometown organization focused on reuse and reimagining, moving into the iconic Kimbell Milling building is a dream come true. The chance to help repurpose this piece of our city’s history is both a privilege and a responsibility, and we’re thrilled to help bring new energy to the space as a hub for arts, education, and sustainability.”

With more room to operate, the new location will strengthen Welman’s ability to serve educators across North Texas. The expanded footprint will streamline donation processing, support larger-scale creative reuse programming, and provide dedicated space for educator trainings and volunteer groups. These improvements will immediately enhance Welman’s capacity to equip teachers, enrich student learning, and keep reusable materials out of the landfill.
