Move, new name, ushers in new era for Morningside community
The historic Elks Lodge in Fort Worth has been acquired by Austin Company Commercial Real Estate. And while it will have a new name, its purpose will not change, Austin officials stated. The renowned gathering place at 2219 Evans Ave. has served as a cornerstone in the Morningside community for over three quarters of a century. Originally established as a welcoming space for people of color, the Lodge has been the setting for countless community events, celebrations, and gatherings.
The property will be renamed Stillwater Lounge and Event Center, which the company said symbolizes both continuity and renewal. Spanning approximately 14,000 square feet, including inside and outdoor space, the building offers versatile event spaces that can be tailored to accommodate gatherings of all sizes. “We recognize the profound importance the Elks Lodge holds for Morningside and the broader Fort Worth community,” said CEO Jim Austin. “Our vision is to honor that legacy by revitalizing the space for both traditional and new uses, ensuring it remains a place where the community can come together for many years to come.”
