TCU Horned Frogs unveiling an officially licensed Bobblehead Wednesday, January 7th

TCU will be unveiling an officially licensed TCU Horned Frogs Bobblehead today, to celebrate National Bobblehead Day, which is celebrated annually on January 7th. They will be celebrating with dozens of new bobblehead releases including this limited-edition bobblehead. The special edition bobblehead is being produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, an official licensee of Texas Christian University.

Considered one of the most unique mascots in college sports, according to TCU archives, “Addie the All-American Frog” debuted as TCU’s mascot in 1949 and became SuperFrog in 1979. It wasn’t until 1999 that the mascot underwent a more modern transformation into the SuperFrog that TCU students and fans now know and love. The Horned Frog, the once-plentiful Texas lizard, first appeared in 1897 on the cover of the school’s first yearbook. By 1915, the mascot made its way onto the first TCU seal. During the post-WWII years, the Horned Frog mascot was embraced in costume, on stationery, class rings, and the band’s bass drums. “We’re excited to be unveiling this new Texas Christian bobblehead in conjunction with National Bobblehead Day,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “We know how passionate Texas Christian alumni, fans, students, faculty, and staff are about their school and bobbleheads, so we expect these bobbleheads to be extremely popular.”

The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, which is located at 170 S. 1st. St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, opened to the public on February 1st, 2019. The HOF and Museum also produces high quality, customized bobbleheads for retail sale as well as organizations, individuals, and teams across the country.

The bobbleheads, which recently arrived and ship now, are available in the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store at this link. Each bobblehead is individually numbered to only 2,025. The bobbleheads are $35 plus an $8 flat-rate shipping charge per order.
