Spaces Include Largest Contiguous Retail Space in the Stockyards and Another Adjacent to Billy Bob’s
Two prime retail spaces in some of the most desirable locations within the Fort Worth Stockyards are ready for new tenants. Real estate advisory firm Citadel Partners is leading the leasing efforts for the Bronco and Lariat Buildings in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
The two high-profile retail opportunities, in one of North Texas’ most visited destinations, benefit from their highly visible setting in the heart of the Stockyards, which gets approximately 10 to 11 million visitors annually.
“Located at 232 NE 28th St., the 35,045-square-foot Bronco Building is the largest contiguous retail space currently available in the Stockyards,” said Citadel Partners Senior Advisor Breck Besserer. “Its expansive, single-story footprint allows for a range of uses, including experiential retail, food and beverage, entertainment or other destination-driven concepts.”
The potential for the Bronco Building is wide open, Besserer added. “A single tenant that can fully activate the scale and visibility of the Bronco Building would really be a win for the Stockyards and the millions of visitors who want a taste of Cowtown,” said Besserer.
Along with Besserer, Citadel Partners’ Associate Advisor Wiley Green and Market Leader Cullen Donohue will be leading the leasing efforts for the owner.
Just south of the Bronco Building, at 2525 Rodeo Plaza, is the 5,300-square-foot Lariat Building. The Lariat sits directly off Main Street on Rodeo Plaza, adjacent to the world’s largest honky-tonk, Billy Bob’s Texas.
“Like Billy Bob’s, the Lariat Building has also hosted notable artists, but in a more intimate, private setting,” said Donohue. “The building possesses a distinctive character, which lends itself to providing a prospective tenant with an authenticity that speaks to its dynamic, entertainment-driven atmosphere.”
Donohue said the ideal user would be a concept that “complements the energy of the surrounding venues while enhancing the overall visitor experience.”
“With little availability in the Stockyards, these buildings present a rare opportunity for tenants to establish a presence in a high-performing, tourism-driven environment,” said Citadel Partners’ Wiley Green.
The Stockyards have a storied history as the backbone of Fort Worth, where millions of cattle once moved along the legendary Chisholm Trail and helped earn the city its Cowtown nickname. Today, the district blends that Western heritage with a modern edge. Visitors can explore John Wayne: An American Experience, a standout tribute to the iconic actor; unwind at Hotel Drover, a refined Western-chic retreat, or watch the world’s only twice-daily cattle drive. With its mix of history, dining, shopping and entertainment, the Stockyards remains one of North Texas’ most dynamic destinations.
