The Fort Worth Botanic Garden (FWBG) is thrilled to announce the FWBG Family Fun Run, a one-of-a-kind event bringing together runners, walkers, strollers, dog lovers, families of all kinds for a morning of movement, music, and community — all in support of the upcoming Baker Martin Family Garden. Mark your calendars: Saturday, October 10 at 8:30 a.m. at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden.

One mile. Endless fun. The FWBG Family Fun Run features a 1-mile course winding through the stunning grounds of the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Whether you’re an avid runner, a casual jogger, or someone who just enjoys a scenic stroll with the kids in tow, this event is built for you. All paces are welcome! And the party doesn’t stop at the finish line! Participants can kick back and enjoy family yoga with Lululemon, a live DJ, amazing food trucks, and a lineup of family-friendly activities. Wear your fun run shirt and score free admission to the Garden for the rest of the day!

About the Baker Martin Family Garden The Baker Martin Family Garden represents the first major expansion of the Fort Worth Botanic Garden in its 20-year Master Plan. Spanning two acres and thoughtfully designed with children and families at the heart of every detail, this vibrant new garden will feature 11 unique interactive nature spaces, a 150-foot-long shallow creek winding through Texas limestone bluffs, a living Texas Pond teeming with amphibians, fish, and dragonflies, and expansive open lawns perfect for play and exploration. Thematic zones inspired by celestial wonders, urban agriculture, and earth art invite curiosity at every turn, while a LEED-certified Discovery Center offers air-conditioned programming, educational events, and a rotating children’s book collection.

True to its vision as a garden of “yes,” the Baker Martin Family Garden is designed for inclusive, intergenerational engagement — welcoming families of all abilities and backgrounds with features like family restrooms, a dedicated parent’s room, shaded seating, and zero additional entry fees. Developed by Terra Design Studios, the acclaimed firm behind more than 25 successful family gardens across 12 states, this landmark space is set to open to FWBG Members in mid-November 2026, with a public grand opening planned for late March 2027.

About the Fort Worth Botanic Garden Nestled in Fort Worth’s vibrant Cultural District, the Fort Worth Botanic Garden holds the distinction of being Texas’s oldest public botanic garden, a 120-acre oasis just two miles west of downtown that invites guests to discover world-class botanical treasures spanning continents and cultures.
