LifeGift’s 24th Annual Fort Worth 2nd Chance Run Celebrates Hope and Second Chances

FORT WORTH — LifeGift’s 24th Annual Fort Worth 2nd Chance Run brought 572 participants to the historic Fort Worth Stockyards on October 17th to celebrate the life-saving impact of organ, eye and tissue donation and honor the donors who give others a second chance at life.

The annual 5K and 1-mile run and walk united transplant recipients, donor families, healthcare professionals, donation advocates and community members in support of LifeGift’s mission to save and heal lives across North, Southeast and West Texas.

A highlight of this year’s event was the opportunity to share stories of hope and resilience, including that of Avery Overn, who received a life-saving liver and portal vein transplant in April 2026. Her family’s journey is a powerful reminder of the difference donation makes for recipients and their loved ones.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, cheered and helped make this year’s event a success. Together, we continue raising awareness of the need for organ, eye and tissue donation and the hope it brings to thousands of Texans.
