AZZ Inc. announces acquisition of Rogers Brothers Company

Acquisition expands AZZ’s metal coating services and geographical reach in the Midwest

AZZ Inc. announced Thursday, Feb. 1, that it has acquired all the assets and outstanding shares of privately-held Rockford, Illinois-based Rogers Brothers Company, which provides galvanizing services to a multi-state area within the Midwest. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed in the news release.

“This strategic acquisition supports AZZ’s goal of continued geographic expansion as well as portfolio expansion of its metal coating services,” Tim Pendley, senior vice president and chief operating officer of AZZ Metal Coatings said. “From a geographic standpoint, the Rogers Brothers facility is ideally located to service Midwestern customers, and their century-long experience in galvanizing centrifuge operations expands AZZ’s capability to handle small parts such as fasteners, washers and castings.”

Located on a 2.7-acre site, the Rogers Brothers Company’s operations include a 13,000 square foot plant and 30,000 square feet of office warehouse, along with 3 kettles, galvanizing centrifuges and other equipment used for hot-dip galvanizing, the release detailed.

Following the acquisition, the facility will operate as AZZ Galvanizing – Rockford in an effort to complement AZZ’s other Midwestern locations. The deal increases AZZ’s Metal Coatings network of hot-dip galvanizing plants to 45 sites across the U.S. and Canada.

According to the release, AZZ expects the new Rockford facility will be accretive to earnings within the first year of operation.
