Bank of Texas donates $10,000 to the Women’s Center of Tarrant County

The Bank of Texas team surprised The Women’s Center of Tarrant County with a $10,000 donation. The Women’s Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and empowering people to overcome violence, crisis and poverty, was chosen through the company’s annual Guide the Giving initiative.

“Our team didn’t just vote—they voted with their hearts and with their local knowledge. They chose a nonprofit that they see making a difference every day in the neighborhoods they call home. Our program, Guide the Giving, allows us to listen to our team and make a significant impact on something that is important to them,” said Bill McCoy, Fort Worth Market CEO for Bank of Texas. “The Women’s Center’s commitment to help Fort Worth’s residents overcome these hardships is one we’re grateful for the chance to help support.”

Stephanie Reyes, Healthcare Loan Coordination Specialist and Women’s Center board member, nominated the non-profit organization and presented the check to President and CEO Laura Hilgart. Bill McCoy and Candy Nickelson, Regional Community Relations and Marketing Manager for Bank of Texas were involved in the surprise.

Every year, BOK Financial, parent company for Bank of Texas, hosts the Guide the Giving program which invites employees to nominate charities in their community they feel have a significant mission and deserve to receive a $10,000 donation. Employees then vote on the nominees, and a winning nonprofit is selected in each market.
