Chase providing $500,000 for local workforce development

JPMorgan Chase announced Monday, May 8 it will provide $500,000 to CLC Inc. for local workforce development efforts to create greater economic opportunity for veterans and unemployed workers.

CLC Inc. is a 501(c)(3), private nonprofit career school founded in 2000 and has been serving Veterans since 2007. CLC, Inc.’s mission is: “Through Collaboration with Industry and Community Partners, CLC, Inc. Provides Job Seekers with Employer Driven, Customized Training to Prepare Tomorrow’s Workforce to Meet Today’s Industry Needs.”

CLC Inc. is working with Lockheed Martin, Bell Helicopter Textron and a number of other industry partners through collaboration in the development and continuous improvement of curriculum, resulting in training programs driven by the Industry’s need for skilled workers. CLC Inc. will offer skills training courses in; advanced material repair, composite bonding, manufacturing, aerospace assembly training, welding, machining, or logistics/production. Upon graduation participants will be placed in career occupations in those fields for which the training occurred.

This funding will support technical skills training in high growth/high demand occupations- especially aerospace and advanced manufacturing.

“The advanced technical skills used in today’s aircraft manufacturing requires specific training, and CLC, Inc. is critical in answering that training need,” said Jon Gustafson, Lockheed Martin’s North Texas lead for Enterprise Talent Management & Professional Development. “As we grow our manufacturing workforce to support F-35 production, CLC, Inc. and support from community partners like JPMorgan Chase play an important role in preparing potential employees.”
