Dallas-based KDC has been chosen to develop a new corporate headquarters for Independent Bank Group, Inc.’s Dallas-Fort Worth office at McKinney Corporate Center Craig Ranch.
Craig Ranch is located at the crossroads of Frisco, Plano, Allen and McKinney, and is within 30 minutes of DFW International and Dallas Love Field airports.
“There’s no better time to be breaking ground in McKinney and what better partnership than KDC and Independent Bank,” Craig Ranch developer David Craig said in a news release. “We’re looking forward to welcoming Independent Bank as the inaugural corporate headquarters at the McKinney Corporate Center Craig Ranch.”
KDC is expected to break ground on the project in the fourth quarter of 2017, with hopes to have 400 employees in the new HQ by January 2019. Bret Hefton and Graham Shelby with Avison Young are representing Independent Bank Group throughout the transaction.
“IBTX is experiencing impressive growth and was eager to get started on their new corporate headquarters,” said KDC CEO Steve Van Amburgh in the release. “It was important to Independent Bank that they remain in McKinney, so together with David Craig and the city of McKinney, we were able to develop a project that meets their needs today and allows for future growth.”
Independent Bank Group’s new, 150,000-square-foot HQ will be located at the entrance of the corporate center on a 10.4-acre plot of land at the cross of State Highway 121 and Grand Ranch Parkway.
KDC will begin to interview architects and general contractors in the next few weeks, in addition to creating plans for LEED Silver certification.

McKinney-based Independent Bank is an $8.7 billion regional bank that currently has an employee base of over 1,000 and operates 82 banking offices throughout Texas and Colorado.
