Dr Pepper Snapple Group posts 4Q profit

PLANO, Texas (AP) — Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc. (DPS) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $185 million.

On a per-share basis, the Plano, Texas-based company said it had profit of 97 cents. Earnings, adjusted for asset impairment costs, came to $1 per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 98 cents per share.

The maker of beverages such as 7Up, Sunkist and Mott’s posted revenue of $1.55 billion in the period.

Dr Pepper Snapple Group expects full-year earnings in the range of $4.20 to $4.30 per share.

Dr Pepper Snapple Group shares have dropped slightly more than 1 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has decreased slightly more than 7 percent. The stock has climbed 20 percent in the last 12 months.
