Durant, Oklahoma-based First United Bank completed its merger with Texas-based American Bank of Texas on Nov. 12.

All American Bank of Texas locations will begin operating under the First United name.
The combined bank has over $5.5 billion in assets.
First United has more than 50 locations throughout North Texas and Oklahoma. American Bank of Texas has locations across Texas in Austin, Bonham, Bulverde, Dallas, Denison, Fredericksburg, Frisco, Gainesville, Garden Ridge, Horseshoe Bay, Kingsland, Lakeway, Leonard, Marble Falls, McKinney, Pottsboro, Prosper, Schertz, Seguin, Sherman, Temple, and Whitesboro.
