Fort Worth private equity firm buys British restaurant chain

Fort Worth-based private equity firm TPG has agreed to purchase British restaurant chain Prezzo Plc in a transaction valued at $486 million. “The Prezzo story is one of consistent and robust growth, driven by a business model based on operational excellence,” said Abel Halpern, partner of TPG in a statement. Prezzo was founded in 2000 and operates 249 casual dining restaurants in the United Kingdom.
