Hallmark Financial names new CEO

Hallmark Financial Services Inc., a publicly traded insurance holding company headquartered in Fort Worth, has appointed Naveen Anand as chief executive officer, the company said Aug. 14. Anand takes over from Mark J. Morrison, who will remain with the company as senior executive vice president. Morrison joined Hallmark in 2004 and served as CEO since 2006. Anand has more than 25 years of experience in the property/casualty insurance industry. He joins Hallmark from Torus Insurance Holdings Ltd., where he served since 2009 as U.S. chief executive and global chief operating officer. Prior to joining Torus, Anand worked for CNA Financial Corp., Chubb Corp. and St. Paul Insurance Co. Mark E. Schwarz, executive chairman of Hallmark, said, “We are fortunate to have someone with Naveen’s skills, experience and record of accomplishment assuming the chief executive officer role at Hallmark. I am confident his leadership abilities will be a valuable addition to the Hallmark team and believe he will do a terrific job in furthering Hallmark’s continuing development into a larger and more valuable company.” Hallmark Financial Services, through its subsidiaries, engages in the sale of property/casualty insurance products to businesses and individuals. Hallmark’s common stock is listed on NASDAQ under the symbol “HALL.”
