Higginbotham expands in Tyler

Higginbotham is expanding in Tyler, announcing on July 27 its merger with Sellers-Patterson Insurance.

Sellers-Patterson, led by Linda Sellers, is Higginbotham’s second office in Tyler; the first established in 2014 when Higginbotham entered the market. The union gives the combined firm a local workforce of 16 serving businesses and families in northeast Texas.

Fort Worth-based Higginbotham is ranked by revenue as the largest independent insurance broker based in the state. It operates 29 offices in Texas and Oklahoma City that collaborate to provide a single source solution for insurance and financial services. Sellers-Patterson, an employee benefits and individual health insurance broker, will draw on Higginbotham’s property/casualty insurance capabilities to expand its service portfolio.

“Our emphasis is always on providing year-round service to our insureds,” said Linda Sellers, principal at Sellers-Patterson. “Partnering with Higginbotham allows us to deepen our customer service and offer more options for other lines of insurance, including commercial property and casualty.”
