Coinsource’s CEO Sheffield Clark and CMO Bobby Sharp announced as 2018 Entrepreneur’s of the Year

For the first time, leaders of a Bitcoin company are winners of the Southwest 2018 Entrepreneur of the Year award in the FinTech category.

Fort Worth-based Coinsource’s CEO Sheffield Clark and CMO Bobby Sharp were nominated by third parties, and selected by a panel of independent judges, beating out multiple entrepreneurs through their innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities, a news release detailed.

“It’s always an honor to be considered alongside an elite group of talented, driven, and selfless individuals, and we are extremely excited to have been awarded such a prestigious title. We were finalists last year and to win it this year is an absolute career highlight,” Clark said in the release.

“Being recognized in traditional business circles as leaders of the year is a testament to the adoption of bitcoin by the general public,” he continued. “This recognition further demonstrates that blockchain technology is the way of the future, and we are proud to be paving the way for its growth.”

The release explained that founded in 2015, Coinsource has become the world’s largest bitcoin ATM network, deploying machines across America — with almost 200 across 18 states.

Coinsource provides quick and convenient access to the world’s fastest-growing alternative asset, Bitcoin, directly from the kiosk.

“We are very proud of what we’ve built here at Coinsource. As true believers in the capabilities of blockchain, one of our main goals is to further open access to digital asset markets by providing the unbanked and underbanked with cash to bitcoin, and bitcoin to cash conversion,” Clark said in the release. “We believe this technology is going to change the world as we know it.”
