Northstar Bank makes changes at the top

Following some rapid growth and acquisitions in North Texas, Northstar Bank of Texas has made several changes at the top, including splitting the roles of state CEO and president, as well as adding some new regional presidents.

Tony Clark remains CEO of Texas and will continue to be based in Denton. He has served the dual role of CEO and president since 1999, before joining the Carlile corporate family in 2012. With the new division of duties, he will be able to focus on strategic direction, net income, company culture, and both employee and client engagement, according to a bank news release. Clark’s BBA is from Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, and his Professional Master of Banking degree is from LSU.

Mark White, who has been Northstar’s Colorado president since 2012, was named Texas president of Northstar Bank. Previously, he was senior vice president with BBVA Compass in Colorado. His bachelor’s degree is from Cal Poly and MBA is from the University of Colorado. White will have offices in both Fort Worth and Denton.

Glenn Monroe will join Northstar Bank as Tarrant County Regional President. Monroe has been chairman and CEO of Meridian Bank Texas for most of the past decade, managing banks in Fort Worth, Denton, Carrollton, and Dallas, and overseeing Meridian’s acquisition and conversion of State Bank and Trust. Previously he was EVP and chief lending officer of TexasBank in Fort Worth, and earlier in his career was president of Wells Fargo in Denton. He has both a BBA and MBA from TCU and will office in Northstar’s Fort Worth-University location. He’s a graduate of SMU Graduate School of Banking and OU Commercial Lending School.

Steward succeeds Ralph Ramsey in the Denton position, who remains Executive Vice President and will focus on the Dallas/Rockwall and builder markets.

Leah King also joins the Northstar Bank team as marketing communications director and will be based in Fort Worth. She was previously with Holland Services. In her new role, she will oversee marketing and corporate communications responsibilities for all Northstar Bank locations in Texas and Colorado.

Northstar Bank is owned and operated by Carlile Bancshares, Inc., a multi-bank holding company headquartered in Fort Worth. Northstar Banks have more than 45 locations throughout Texas and Colorado.
