NRH company lays off over 200 in North Texas

A hospitality company based in North Richland Hills is laying off more than 200 workers in North Texas.

Silverleaf Resorts, a vacation ownership company, filed a letter with the Texas Workforce Commission, saying in will eliminate 120 position in Pantego, where it has a call center, as well as 83 positions in Irving, 33 in Tyler and 18 in Holly Lake Ranch.

In May, Silverleaf Resorts, then owned by Cerberus Capital Management, was acquired by Orlando, Fla.-based Orange Lake Resorts. At the time, Silverleaf Resorts was said employ 3,000 workers, operate 13 vacation properties across six states in the eastern half of the U.S., serving approximately 120,000 members.

Orange Lake Holdings also operates Holiday Inn Club Vacations.
