Regions Bank on West Seventh Street is now open.
The bank held a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday morning to celebrate its new 15,000 square-foot space, located in the high-profile 60,000 square-foot building on the corner of West Seventh Street and University Drive. The bank was previously located downtown at 100 Main St.
“The [Fort Worth] market in general is one that just really lines up well with where we want to be and where we want to invest,” said Marc Angle, Texas area president of Regions Bank. “We’re going to be growing in Fort Worth.”
The bank’s retail branch operates on the first floor, with business units on the fourth floor. Features of the building include an open office concept, conference rooms and a video teller service that would allow customers to video chat with a teller while using the ATM.
What the location doesn’t have is a bank traditional teller line. Instead, Regions employees will be able to interact with customers directly without being divided by a desk.
“This new location combines innovative technology with the human touch that is so important in banking,” Scott Jones, Dallas-Fort Worth president of Regions Bank, said in a news release. “Now, more than ever, Regions is committed to serving customers when, where and how they want to be served.”
The building – a project by contractor Muckleroy & Falls and architect Bennett Benner Partners – is five stories tall, with an approximately 6,000 square-foot penthouse at the top. A 125-space parking garage is connected to the back of the building.
Regions is the first tenant to occupy the building, and other tenants are in talks to lease the remaining space, said Optometrist Robert Chu, whose family owns the building.
Chu’s practice, Eyeworks, also plans to move into the building in the late summer. Eyeworks will occupy the side facing University Drive, with the first floor serving as an eyewear retail store and the second floor serving as the clinic, laser center and administrative offices.
Chu said Regions is working to obtain naming rights to the building.
Regions plans to host a grand opening ceremony April 29.
