Retail gas prices hold steady in Texas at $2.22 per gallon

COPPELL, Texas (AP) — Retail gasoline prices across Texas are holding steady this week at $2.22 per gallon.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported that compares to a 2-cent decline for prices at the pump nationwide, slipping to $2.40 per gallon.

The association survey found that Beaumont and San Antonio have the cheapest gasoline statewide at an average $2.15 per gallon.

Drivers in Dallas are paying the most for gasoline at $2.28 per gallon.

AAA says the status of regional refineries continues to be a driving factor for gas prices in many parts of the country. Analysts say lower prices may be on the way for U.S. consumers by this summer if refinery maintenance ends smoothly and if crude oil remains relatively cheap.
