Rylander, Clay & Opitz acquired by BKD

Fort Worth-based accounting and consulting firm Rylander, Clay & Opitz LLP will join Springfield, Missouri-based BKD LLP effective June 1, the two firms announced May 29.

RCO—a Fort Worth-based firm offering a variety of accounting and consulting services for clients across a broad range of industries—will join BKD’s approximately 2,650 personnel and 280 partners.

“With the addition of RCO, BKD will fulfill our strategic vision of having a presence in Fort Worth, the 16th largest city in the U.S.,” said Dallas, Fort Worth and Waco Managing Partner Tom Watson. “The combination capitalizes on RCO’s deep roots in the Fort Worth market and BKD’s wide range of audit and advisory services that RCO’s clients can now access.”

RCO will grow the overall capabilities of BKD’s South Region and its existing offices in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Waco. Staff will stay at their current location on 3200 Riverfront Dr. in Fort Worth, and the office will be led by RCO’s current managing partner, Rob Opitz.
