Tandy Leather Factory reports lower January sales

Tandy Leather Factory Inc. of Fort Worth has reported January sales of $6.7 million, down 5 percent compared to $7 million in the same month last year.

“We haven’t started the year as well as we would like. However, there were two things working against us in January,” said president and CEO Jon Thompson, commenting in a news release.

Those were one less selling day compared to last year and the negative impact of the strong U.S. dollar on the company’s international operations, Thompson said.

“We will pick up the selling day in February,” Thompson said.
