Tandy Leather Factory Inc. of Fort Worth has reported net income of $1.1 million in the third quarter, or 32 percent less than the $1.6 million reported in the same period last year.

Fully diluted earnings per share for the latest quarter totaled 11 cents, compared to 16 cents in last year’s third quarter.

“Even though earnings were down significantly compared to last year’s third quarter, our results were in line with our internal targets,” said president and CEO Jon Thompson in a news release.

Thompson noted that the company’s investment in inventory resulted in what he called a positive effect on sales.
