TeamHealth acquires Fort Worth-based Emergency Medicine Consultants

Clinician services organization TeamHealth announced Monday, Feb. 5, it has acquired Fort Worth-based Emergency Medicine Consultants (EMC) Ltd. and its affiliated entities, a news release stated.

“With a 40-year history, EMC is a highly-respected group with an enduring reputation for providing quality care for patients and families and excellent service to its hospital partners,” Leif Murphy, TeamHealth president and CEO, said in the release. “Together, EMC and TeamHealth will continue to advance our position as the leading clinician practice in the country driven by an unwavering commitment to quality and safety.”

EMC provides emergency medicine staffing for 24 facilities and one urgent care center in multiple health systems, including Texas Health Resources and Methodist Health System. Additionally, according to the release, EMC’s approximately 330 physicians and 80 advanced practice clinicians provide care to more than 900,000 patients each year.
