Texas Trust continues partnership with UTA

🕐 2 min read

Texas Trust Credit Union is kicking off the fifth year of its strategic partnership with the University of Texas at Arlington Intercollegiate Athletics.

Since Texas Trust has been the official credit union of UTA Athletics, it has donated more than $80,000 to the athletic scholarship fund and has offered student-oriented financial services through its on-campus branch. Additionally, Texas Trust is the sponsor of the UTA student fan section located within College Park Center, the company said in a news release.

For the 2018-2019 school year, UTA has announced that all registered full-time UTA students with a valid student ID can attend any home sporting event for free. To take advantage, students simply enter the venue through the designated student entrance and swipe their student ID – through Gate 1 into the Texas Trust corridor.

The UTA Mavericks play their home volleyball and basketball games at College Park Center (CPC); baseball and softball games are played at Clay Gould Ballpark or Allan Saxe Field; tennis matches are held at the UTA Tennis Center; and track and field events are located at Maverick Stadium.

Texas Trust’s monthly donation to the athletic scholarship fund is raised through its Spirit Debit Rewards program. With every eligible swipe of a UTA debit card featuring a Maverick sport, a donation is made to the scholarship fund. The program is on pace to reach the $100,000 mark before the end of the 2018-2019 school year, the company’s news release said.

Texas Trust Credit Union was created in 1936 when a group of Chance Vought Aircraft Corp. employees pooled their savings so they could help each other achieve financial goals. It now has more than 114,000 members, according to the news release.

Texas Trust Credit Union supports local students through its “Spirit Debit Rewards” program. With every eligible swipe of an SDR card, funds are donated to the school or district of the member’s choosing. To date, Texas Trust has donated more than $1.7 million since August 2011.

With assets of more than $1.2 billion, Texas Trust is the sixth largest credit union in North Texas and the 17th largest in Texas, the company said.
