UMB Bank promotes Keiser, names new president for Fort Worth

UMB Bank, a subsidiary of UMB Financial Corporation (Nasdaq: UMBF), has promoted Cliff Keiser to director of energy banking and vice chairman of Fort Worth. Michael Garner is being promoted to president of UMB Bank Fort Worth, taking over the role formerly held by Keiser. In addition, Erica Spencer is hired as an energy portfolio manager to support the energy banking team.

We look forward to the expertise Cliff will bring to our team in the energy sector and the experience and new perspective Michael will bring to our commercial team.”

Keiser has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry with an emphasis in the energy sector. In his new role at UMB, he is responsible for developing underwriting guidelines and policy for energy lending as well as generating new relationships in the space. Keiser started and grew the energy banking division for Frost Bank and has experience in the oil and gas banking sector in Fort Worth and Houston.

Garner has nearly 15 years of banking and financial services experience, all with UMB Bank. In his new role, he is responsible for the overall growth and direction of the market, including managing the commercial team. Garner is joining the team after serving as the senior vice president and commercial team lead at UMB Bank in St. Louis. Prior to that role, he was with UMB Bank in the Springfield and Kansas City markets.

Spencer has more than 10 years of banking and financial services experience. In her new role, she is responsible for helping Keiser develop the energy banking division at UMB Bank. Prior to her role at UMB, she was vice president, energy finance at Frost Bank.
