Weaver opens West Coast office

Fort Worth-based Weaver is expanding to the West Coast with the opening of an office in Los Angeles. Matthew Anderson joins Weaver as an audit partner and will launch the firm’s California practice.

“Our expansion into California marks a critical milestone in Weaver’s strategic plan to extend the reach of the firm’s financial services practice,” said Tommy D. Lawler, Weaver’s managing partner and CEO. “Partnering Matt’s experience dedicated to financial services with Weaver’s existing talent and capabilities in the industry enables us to deliver top-notch service and industry expertise to the many investment companies based on the West Coast.”

Anderson has more than 20 years of experience in public accounting, the last 14 with Rothstein Kass, where he specialized in the alternative asset industry, including investment partnerships, hedge funds and private equity funds. Anderson founded and was the partner-in-charge of RK’s Denver, Col., office and assisted in the launch of RK’s Walnut Creek, Calif., office in 2000. Prior to joining RK, Anderson worked at Ernst & Young LLP and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Originally founded in 1950, Weaver currently has 520 employees and Texas offices in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Midland, Odessa and San Antonio, and in Stamford, Conn., and in Denver, Colo.
