Whitley Penn has announced Josh Agren, Mark DeSimone, Nathen McEown and Brian Starr as partners with the accounting firm effective Jan. 1, 2015.
“We are proud of these four professionals and the leadership that they provide within our firm and the community. They are dedicated to client service and have worked very hard to achieve this goal,” said Larry Autrey, managing partner, in a news release.
Josh Agren, CPA, joined the firm in 2008 as an audit senior in the firm’s Fort Worth office after spending four years with a regional public accounting firm in Boston. His experience focuses on health care, manufacturing, distribution, oil and gas servicing, and employee benefit plans.
Mark DeSimone, CPA, joined the firm in 2011 as a senior tax manager in the Dallas office. With more than 16 years of public accounting experience, DeSimone provides federal, state and international tax consulting and compliance services to companies in a wide range of industries including: software, service, retail, distribution, real estate, manufacturing, oil and gas, and technology.
Nathen McEown, CPA, has more than 10 years of public accounting experience providing audit and consulting services to both public and private companies.
Brian Starr, CPA, has more than 12 years of audit experience with public and private companies. He is a business adviser and consultant for clients in industries such as manufacturing and distribution, oilfield services, software development and sales, real estate, broker-dealers, and private equity investment companies. Starr has experience with Securities and Exchange Commission reporting related to both accelerated and non-accelerated filers. He oversees all aspects of the assurance process, including planning, internal control evaluation, risk assessment, fieldwork, and report issuance and engagement closure.
