Albertsons, Tom Thumb to close four North Texas stores, one in Fort Worth

🕐 1 min read

Albertsons and Tom Thumb are closing several underperforming stores in North Texas, including one in Fort Worth.

The one in Fort Worth is the Albertsons at 10800 N. Beach St. Also closing are an Albertsons at 1300 W. Beltline Road in DeSoto, a Tom Thumb at 2600 Flower Mound Road in Flower Mound and one at 820 S Macarthur Blvd. in Coppell.

“Closing an underperforming store is always a tough decision, but sometimes a necessary step to position our company for greater success and growth,” said Connie Yates, a corporate spokesperson. “We are working toward providing opportunities for the employees of these stores at other Albertsons and Tom Thumb locations.”

Yates noted that “since the beginning of 2018, we have remodeled multiple stores, opened our first full service Tom Thumb convenience store, and have two stores under construction that will open next year.”
